JRA was selected to design a $4.6 million addition project for Eastside High School in Gainesville, FL. The main feature is a two-story building containing 15 classrooms, a 50-seat lecture hall, three computer labs, two science labs, and two teacher planning rooms. Total space is 38,000 square feet. There are 638 student stations in the building. The design also has offices for administrative functions.
JRA is also designing covered walkways to connect to other buildings on campus, adding a bus loop and new student parking area. There is particular emphasis on a building exterior and architectural style that will enable the Classroom Building to blend visually with its surroundings.
