In 2013, as part of a $7,000,000 multi-phase project, JRA was selected as the Architect for the Hiland Park Elementary Addition, Renovations and Remodeling.
Phase I of the project consisted of a new 16,000 square foot Food Service Building with a stage. JRA designed a stage lighting package as well as a state-of-the-art sound system with fully integrated data and communication interface with the entire campus. To maximize sound transmission throughout the seating area, a sloped ceiling system was utilized with angled, sound reflective walls to help move the sound to the rear, where it is then captured with acoustical absorptive materials to prevent reverberation back towards the stage area. The building was completed and opened for use in May of 2015.
Phase II of the Project consisted of renovation of 3 classroom buildings. All work was completed over the summer break and opened in time for fall classes.
Phase III included the remodeling of the Original Food Service Building into a new Administration Site. The final Phase saw the demolition of the two original Administration Buildings and the addition of Staff Parking.
